Is it possible to cut a finished wool rug shorter?

 I wish to cut a curtain carpet shorter to fit in a peculiar space during a finish of my hallway. It splits off as well as has dual room doors upon possibly side. we wish to cut an 8′ curtain down to 5′9. If possible…any advice, how to sites? thx |

We have done with rugs and runners. We have always had a professional rug repair and cleaning service do it so the edge can be properly bound.
Yes you can cut it down to the length you need.And as mentioned you ll need to get it bound on the end w/ matching material . take it to the local carpet store and they ll have access to a rug binder. You can pick a color out right there or have them do it for you. It ll cost 2/3$ a l/f to have it bound. Surging ( a different technique) will cost a bit more. GL
